Pedagogical Innovation

In order to ensure a better future for our students, their future families and the Israeli economy, Netzach’s strategy is three-fold:
(i) Outstanding formal education,
(ii) Well-rounded informal education, and
(iii) Principal and staff training & development.

This comprehensive approach equips our professional team with the necessary skills to build schools of excellence, provide our students with an excellent education and the tools to make choices they would not otherwise not have available to them. At Netzach we want our students to not only have an outstanding education but to also become well-rounded individuals, who can seamlessly integrate into any situation, including the workforce.

Netzach’s Formal Education

The national average in Israel of students earning full matriculation diplomas (those attending state-secular and state-religious schools) is 70%.  In the larger Charedi community, only 14% earn full matriculation diplomas, and these are mostly young women, not men. The main reason is the lack of Charedi schools teaching general studies and matriculation (Bagrut) preparation. Without this formal education, Charedi youth are not able to compete for quality employment or pursue higher education in Israel. At Netzach we provide outstanding Torah education alongside full academic studies in a fully ultra-Orthodox environment. By the time our high school students graduate, 95% earn full matriculation diplomas.

Netzach’s Informal Education Curriculum

In addition to our outstanding formal education, Netzach invests heavily in its students’ adherence to the Jewish principle of “derech eretz kadma l’Torah” – meaning that “decency, kind behavior should precede Torah requirements”. Our broad curriculum of enrichment activities is designed to mold our students into well-rounded individuals̶̶    something that formal education alone cannot imbue.

We aim to provide our students with tools for life, including leadership and problem-solving skills, interpersonal communication skills, civic awareness, tolerance, interaction and group cohesion, self-awareness, coping and learning strategies, thoughtfulness and reflective thinking.

Each school has developed its own program of informal activities to help our students learn through authentic experiences. We work on developing empathy and tolerance, instilling values, growing skills, broadening worldviews, building self-confidence, and fostering a sense of teamwork and community in an informal environment. Activities include: experiential winter and summer trips, academic & enrichment lectures, classes in music, self-defense and painting, and opportunities for volunteering in the local community.

Through our informal education curriculum, each individual student undergoes their own process of personal development and acquires tools that will help them conduct themselves with grace and respect, giving them the advantage of integrating more easily into all situations.

Netzach’s Staff Training & Development Program

It is not easy in Israel to find suitably-qualified and skilled teachers with the necessary religious background to teach in our schools, and who can also meet the demands and teach the curricula laid out by the Ministry of Education. That’s why the Netzach Educational Network invests in extensive professional development to give our teachers and principals the new pedagogical skills that they need. This includes implementing program-based learning (PBL), Science/Technology/Engineering/ Mathematics (STEM) programs, and e-learning, which are all beyond their current abilities.

We also provide the principals and staff of our schools with training and guidance on how to build their schools and systems properly, how to work effectively with the Ministry of Education and with parents, the proper and effective implementation of all the required programs and protocols, and the management strategies they need to overcome the unique challenges encountered by their schools.
