Ofek Women’s College Opens Medical Imaging BSc. Course

Netzach’s Ofek Nursing Education program has changed the landscape of medical training for Charedi women in Jerusalem. Since the College opened in 2018, we have successfully placed hundreds of graduates in nursing roles in Israel’s hospitals and in the wider community.

This year, Ofek College opened an additional Medical Imaging track for Charedi women, leading to a Bachelor of Science degree. The course opened with 16 students, who started the year with a tour of the Imaging Institute at Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem, Jerusalem.

The students met the senior medical team, headed by Professor Jacob Sosna, Vice Dean of the Hadassah Hebrew University Medical School, Chair of the Imaging Division, and President of the Israel Radiology Association. He welcomed them to the profession, saying that they are in dire need of  high-quality professional manpower to join the rapidly innovating field of medical imaging.

Director of Ofek College, Mrs. Chaya Chesrak explains: “We are excited to welcome a new cohort of 340 students to our established Nursing and Psychology courses and our new Medical Imaging course. Ofek is the only post-high school program  that combines an elite academic program alongside advanced religious education, with an uncompromising approach to Haredi values. Our professional training courses in physical and mental health, produce Haredi women graduates who are breaking new ground in the medical world.”
